Counselling Supervision
What makes a good supervision session?

As a practising therapist and supervisor I understand that I have an ethical requirement to engage in regular clinical supervision to ensure safe clinical practice, and, finding a supervisor that feels to 'fit' can be at times just as difficult a task as finding the 'right' therapist.

I am an experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and trained supervisor. My original training of Person-Centred underpins the way in which I have worked throughout my career. I have over 18 years working as a Psychological Therapist and Talking Therapies Team Lead and am familiar with various presentations, and am only too aware of the pressure many counsellors feel within this working environment.

Using the 7 eyed model I offer supervision to a range of supervisees at different stages of development. Our sessions together will be online using a secure platform, and supervisees residing in my location (Shetland) can be offered a blended approach through online and room based format. It is important to recognise guidance from BACP related to supervision needs, and what this can mean when delivering online counselling / therapy sessions. I am currently working toward an additional qualification that focuses on online and telephone supervision; this adds to supervision qualifications held, please click here for more detail.

The supervision sessions aims are to provide a space where we can work collaboratively and interactively while we monitor the process of therapy and the quality of client care. I will offer insight with the aim to add to your clinical skills, facilitate personal and professional growth.

I work flexibly and to accommodate busy lifestyles and commitments appointments may need to be out with the 9am to 5pm format. To get a flavour of how we would work together please contact me to book a Free session (up to 1 hour) to discuss your supervision needs.
